I hold a degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Petrópolis (1986). Before graduating I was already a managing partner at CIL Cartonagem Imperial, a packaging manufacturer, where I led operations and marketing for twenty years. I then ran Trisport, a sporting goods retailer, and served as administrative superintendent of Hospital Espírita André Luiz, overseeing IT, HR, procurement, facilities and maintenance.
That practice raised the question that still drives my work: why do well-planned decisions so often fail to materialize? The Austrian School gave me the starting point, with the view that human action is purposeful and knowledge is dispersed. Behavioral economics and neuroeconomics gave me the tools to measure what happens when a decision meets emotion, attention and uncertainty.
I have taught in MBA programs since 2014 and, since 2019, at SKEMA Business School in Belo Horizonte, where I am the academic coordinator of the international L3 (Programme Grande École) and ESDHEM programs. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Administration at CEPEAD/UFMG, run MSTM Consultoria and teach at Mises Academy, the education platform of Instituto Mises Brasil. I work in Portuguese and English, and read Spanish.
